A Belated Valentine from JPJQ

What a wonderful month!

First of all, from the point of view of all of us (and we're all new Portlanders), thank you, Portland, for resisting the urge to snow all over us again this month!

Really, though, we had a fantastic month, getting back in the groove and back on the stage, after a hectic (and icy) Christmas and New Year. It was great for us to get back together and play after having spent the holidays with friends and family.

The Jazz Station

We made our debut at The Jazz Station in Eugene on the 17th, and were once again blown away by the generosity and warmth of Eugene's jazz fans! It's often difficult to build an audience from afar - we know that the first few times we play in a new venue, much less a new city, we are dependent on the club's reputation and the city's willingness to take a chance on something they've never heard before. And we couldn't be happier with the Jazz Station's great promotions, and their audience's willingness to take a chance on us. Thank you so much!

The News

Territorial Graphic

We are happy to announce that we will be back at Territorial Vineyards with our JPJQ Trio

(featuring the amazing Dr Timothy VanCleave on Vibraphone) on May 4th,2017 (May the Fourth be with us!). It's a special day for us, since it's exactly one year since we released our album, I Want Love, and we're thrilled to start a tradition of playing an "anniversary gig" to celebrate!

We will also be offering an anniversary special on the purchase of I Want Love. Purchase a cd or download of the album from our website or from us personally during April or May for Half Price! That's right - during April and May, we are selling the CD for only $7.50, or a Download for only $5.00!

We also have a return engagement booked at The Jazz Station on Saturday, May 27th. We're delighted to spend Memorial Day weekend playing the music we love! We look forward to seeing all the friends we made at our first show there again, and hopefully making some new ones! We're also working on building a little tour around that date, so stay tuned for more information!

And Finally...

There's only one song left on our list of Stump the Arranger songs, and we plan to debut that song at our next performance - it's a special one, requested by Ami Stevens, who was the contributor who put our Indiegogo campaign over the top! We're so sorry that it's taken so long and we promise it'll be worth the wait!

In the meantime, we're looking forward to doing a few more videos of some of our other newer arrangements - they should start appearing in March, and we're going to do our best to get them out to you with some regularity... and with appearances of some of JPJQ's favorite alumni!

Our gig calendar is always expanding, so keep checking back to see what's new!

See you in March!
